BARREL VAULT HOSTEL

Our project involved the exciting challenge of conceptualizing and designing a student hostel that fosters a dynamic environment where students can seamlessly integrate work, rest, socialization, and relationship building. Working in pairs, we tackled the design of individual rooms, with the final stage culminating in integrating our designs to form a cohesive hostel complex.

A central design feature is a welcoming courtyard space strategically incorporated to entice residents to step outside and embrace the fresh air and natural surroundings. This encourages a healthy lifestyle and fosters community as students gather and connect in this vibrant outdoor area. The distinctive barrel vaults grace the buildings and add a touch of architectural intrigue. These serve as robust support structures and create a captivating tunnel effect as residents traverse the various spaces. This subtle yet impactful design element adds a touch of whimsy and reinforces the sense of spatial flow within the hostel complex.
