My Design Philosophy
Architecture is more than just constructing buildings; it’s about building communities. We weave together the physical fabric of our world, creating spaces that span miles horizontally and soar vertically, all to accommodate the diverse needs of people. But it’s not simply about providing shelter. It’s about fostering connection, encouraging interaction, and nurturing a sense of belonging. With these core concepts at heart, we, as future architects, also need to keep in mind the environmental impact we have on our design and building strategies. We are entrusted with the responsibility of minimizing our ecological footprint. This means prioritizing the reuse and recycling of existing resources whenever possible. We must become adept at creatively repurposing materials and breathing new life into structures that have outlived their original purpose. We must strive to build a future where our creations exist in harmony with nature, leaving a legacy of responsible and sustainable design.
Innovation and construction are forces that we cannot control. However, the path we take towards these pursuits is our choice.
Who Am I?
I am an aspiring architecture and design student based in San Francisco. I am a fourth-year BArch Major at California College of the Arts. My design philosophies incorporate natural sunlight to reduce dependence on artificial systems and mixed-use spaces that investigate the optimum use of living/working areas in the urban setting.
My start in architecture began with my love of photography in urban landscapes where light and architecture meet to highlight key moments within a structure. In addition, I am very interested in incorporating sustainable building practices in contemporary design in an effort to drive design to a more environment-friendly practice.
